04/27/21 - With 2020 a rather profitable year, Access2online decided to invest those profits and all profits to come helping inmates and parolees to earn a seat at our nation's digital table. For this purpose, we launched a nonprofit called Second Chance Net Inc with a mission to replicate the lessons-learned from our Access2online experience.
Over the last few years, we learned the practical intersection of IT and the tight security of a prison. We learned how to put together training and work opportunities for inmates and then transitioning them as seamlessly as possible into IT jobs with a future on the outside. Among its three projects, the Second Chance Net includes an incubator that will take IT business ideas and grow them into operating IT businesses.
Making online content accessible is just one area of IT technology suitable for the incarcerated and ex-felons. Second Chance Net will deliver many more.
